Thanks for looking and enjoy shopping for a unique gift that lasts a lifetime.
Because I continue to earn a living through scientific writing, field work, and freelance jobs related to natural resources, my time to paint is limited. I believe strongly that it is more important to share my art than to sell it at a high price. So, I offer reproductions, for less than 15 dollars, on this web site. It takes me hours, sometimes days, to finish (or even start) a painting. Once that arduous work is done, I scan and correct, cut watercolor paper to order, print out and sign the print you purchase. While it is not an original, I sell less than 100 copies of any piece in a given year. You are purchasing a limited-edition artwork.
I am on facebook, so search Canyon Wren's Nest and "like" the studio. On the fan page, you can ask questions, make suggestions for subject matter, and see wildlife photos and read wildlife and animal-related posts. I never fill your facebook feed with nonsense. I post no more than one tid-bit per week, on average.
Stuff that isn't that interesting but you may wish to know:
I graduated with two Bachelor's degrees--one in Fine Art from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, and the other in wildlife biology from Colorado State University.
It's been a thrill to work with so many animal species, both in the field, as a scientific researcher, and conservation writer. In the field I have worked on projects involving sea turtles, wolves, seabirds, pronghorn, snakes, shorebirds, raptors, and seals.
